Inspired by the Meatless Monday movement, I thought it would be great to equally promote a Workout Wednesday crusade, encouraging any and everyone to either start exercising or exercise more.
David - a great runner and athlete in general-and I’m not just saying that because he’s my boyfriend - checks out FloTrack often. FloTrack is a running site compiled with tons of track and field videos and interviews for the interested runner. Their site features a seasonal Workout Wednesday video, displaying the intense workouts of elite athletes. Clearly I’m not encouraging others to perform these workouts; they are far too difficult for most and may even cause injury. But why not dedicate Wednesday to a good ole heart rate- raising, sweaty workout?
Workout to hang out.
Workout to feel good and look good.
Workout for fun.
Workout for your health.
Workout to clear your mind.
Between my recent triathlon training and David’s continuous running, we haven’t been working out together as much. But with a fun 45-minute strength workout (no gym required) he created, we are again having fun workouts together.
Let’s all make a goal to do something active every Wednesday and share it at The Fresh Beet.
It doesn’t have to be overly strenuous either - whatever you did that day that got your heart rate up and caused you to sweat (stressing at work doesn’t count!); gardening, jogging, playing volleyball or other sports, bike riding, or playing in the park with your kids.
Let’s see where this goes.
The idea is to get our society moving more. Exercise makes healthier, happier and more productive people.
Let’s get our sexy back.
Have you worked out today? What did you have fun doing?
